FORM: West Coast are undefeated so far in this competition, with impressive victories over Essendon and Fremantle in the opening round and a narrow win over Port Adelaide last week. St Kilda split their two matches in the opening round with a loss to Sydney offset by an outstanding win over Geelong. Unfortunately for the Saints, they didn't get a competitive hitout in the second round against Essendon as the Bombers were unable to land their chartered flights in Wangaratta due to inclement weather. The Saints did get the points however and managed to play an intraclub match among themselves.
WALKING WOUNDED: Andrew Embley, Luke Shuey and Josh Kennedy are all out for the Eagles after injury setbacks during the pre-season, while skipper Darren Glass, Shannon Hurn, Andrew Gaff and Quinten Lynch are also sidelined. The Saints have selected many of their star players, with James Gwilt and Raph Clarke two of their better players missing through injury.
WHO'S HOT: Much maligned midfielder Chris Masten showed his class by picking up 25 disposals and a goal against Port Adelaide last start and will be given every chance by the Eagles to hold down a berth in their best 22. Clint Jones was one of St Kilda's best in the opening round of the NAB Cup and if he can continue that form he may just become more than a tagger this season.
